In the past few decades, the use of Internet has spread to all the world regions, and especially with the entry of the new century, this usage has skyrocketed.

Europe and Central Asia is the region where the increase of users has been greater, ranging from 21.01 in 2002 to 63.17 in 2012, followed by Latin America and the Caribbean (from 8.86 in 2002 to 43.47 in 2012).
Underdeveloped regions have also had an increase in the number of Internet users in the last decade, and sub-Saharan Africa is the region with fewer users (15.34 in 2012).
If we analyze the data by country, countries in northern Europe are those with the most Internet users. In 2012, Iceland had 96 users per 100 inhabitants, followed by Norway and Sweden (95 and 94 respectively).
